Pre-Purchase Exam

This comprehensive examination is conducted before buying a horse to evaluate its overall health and fitness. It includes a detailed physical exam, gait analysis, soundness examination, neurological exam, and often radiographs, to provide potential buyers with crucial information about the horse’s health status.

Pre Lease Exam

Similar to a purchase exam, a pre-lease exam is performed before leasing a horse. This examination ensures that the horse is in good health and suitable for the intended use.

Diagnostic Analgesia

Also known as nerve or joint blocks, this procedure involves injecting an anesthetic into a specific region of the horse’s body to temporarily relieve pain. By observing changes in the horse’s lameness, we can pinpoint the source of discomfort.

Joint Injection

A joint injection is a procedure where medication is directly injected into a joint to reduce inflammation, pain, and improve function. This is often used for horses suffering from arthritis or joint injury.

Ultrasound-Guided Injections

These injections use ultrasound imaging for precision, ensuring the medication is delivered to the exact location needed. This technique is frequently used for treating injuries in soft tissues, like tendons and ligaments, or administering medication into joints such as the sacroiliac (SI) joints and cervical facets (neck).

Neurological Evaluations

These assessments are used to diagnose and manage neurological disorders in horses. They involve a series of tests designed to assess the horse’s nerve and muscle function, helping to detect conditions like Equine Protozoal Myeloencephalitis (EPM), wobbler syndrome, and more.

Performance Soundness Exams

These exams are thorough assessments to ensure your horse is in peak physical condition. They identify any potential health issues that could hinder your horse’s performance, focusing specifically on soundness, which pertains to the horse’s ability to move without pain or lameness.

Radiology X-ray

A radiology X-ray is a non-invasive imaging technique used to visualize the internal structures of your horse, such as bones, in detail. This diagnostic tool is essential in identifying any fractures, infections, or other abnormalities that could be causing discomfort or affecting performance.

Shockwave Therapy

This non-invasive treatment uses pressure waves to stimulate the horse’s natural healing process, often improving pain and mobility. It’s especially beneficial for treating soft tissue injuries, enhancing bone healing, and relieving joint inflammation.

Regenerative Therapies

These innovative treatments use the horse’s own biological materials—like stem cells, platelet-rich plasma, or growth factors—to repair and regenerate damaged tissues, from tendons and ligaments to joints and bones.

Noltrex

Noltrex is an intra-articular joint lubricant medication. It helps improve joint mobility and alleviates pain, making it particularly useful for horses with arthritis or other joint issues.
